As a beauty junkie who is always on the lookout for the latest and greatest products on the market (drugstore affordable). I have been recently lusting over Sleek’s Solstice Palette £9.99 and Pixi’s Glow Tonic £18! If you haven’t heard about these products, no need to worry cause I’m about to fill you in.
Pixi’s Glow Tonic
Though I am obsessed with make-up, I am equally obsessed with skincare and maintaining healthy a complexion. After hearing and reading about this cult beauty product, I knew I needed it in my skincare routine.Created by Petra Strand, Pixi Beauty is a skincare and makeup brand that uses natural products within its ingredients “to make women look like themselves, only better”. Designed with the intention of promoting luminous and healthier skin, this glow tonic contains aloe vera and ginseng, which help to counteract dullness. The product works as a toner and you are supposed apply it after cleansing your skin… As a skincare enthusiast, the thought of such a product makes me so eager to get it, especially when it claims to do so much. However, after a lot of spending this Christmas, my dreams of owning this product will have to wait until the next pay day.
Sleek’s Solstice Highlighting Palette
Ever since Gigi Hadid got everyone on the strobing trend with *this* photo, I’ve been left searching for best highlighting palette to obtain her professional, chic and uber-luxe look.I tried the usual powdery highlighters and didn’t get the results I wanted (I am yet to try Becca’s Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter). I decided to do my research and found out about Sleek’s solstice palette and knew it was the answer to all my highlighting woes. The palette claimed to suit all skin tones and came with two baked powders, one luxe cream formula and one silky shimmer powder, all that the amazing price of £9.99. When I was asked what I wanted for Christmas, this was the first on my list but I’m sadly still waiting for my best friend to give it to me (she’s back from holiday in January).
With my leftover Christmas money, I decided to go into my local superdrug yesterday to do my usual lurking about and didn’t know I’d actually find dupes for these two products I have been lusting for!As you guys know, I recently wrote a product review on Freedom’s Makeup, so I was quite excited to actually see that their stand for the first time in the store ( I swear it was like fate!). Anyway – I managed to pick out these two amazing beauty dupes: the Freedom Pro Highlight Palette and the Freedom Gylcolic Glow Tonic. Each product was £6!
Freedom’s Glow Tonic claims to “even out skin tone for a clearer, brighter more glowing complexion” and it also coincidentally contains aloe vera and ginseng! Freedom’s Pro Highlight Palette has “6 ‘Crème’ super-smooth highlighters and 2 baked illuminators” and the colours are vividly stunning. I cannot wait to try out both of these products properly and let you guys know my thoughts.
